Terms of service

1. Who we are

Marketing Scan is a service of Heath Road BV, registered office: Heistraat 1, 9052 Ghent, Belgium, company and VAT number BE0729951130. Contact address: IJzerlaan 13/001, 9000 Ghent, Belgium. Paid subscriptions are not active yet. Contact: info@marketingscan.be.

2. The service

Marketing Scan checks websites the way a customer, Google and a competitor see them, and explains in plain language what can be improved. It consists of a free quick scan and a platform with an account, in which your website is checked again every week.

You can optionally connect Google Search Console, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn. Some features are marked as beta: they are still being built and may change or stop.

3. Your account

You create an account with your email address or with Google. If you use email, you verify your address and choose a password. Keep your password and confirmation or recovery links private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else uses your account. You can always delete your account yourself.

You only add websites, pages and social media accounts that you manage or are authorised to manage.

4. Prices

The first 50 users get the platform free for 12 months from the day they sign up, with up to 3 websites per account. When those 12 months end, you choose a paid plan or you stop; nothing is charged automatically.

Whoever signs up after the first 50 users can try the platform free for 14 days and then chooses a paid plan, as listed on the pricing page.

We never charge anything without your explicit choice, and we announce price changes in advance.

5. Facebook and Instagram (Meta)

When you connect Facebook or Instagram, you give Marketing Scan permission, through Meta's own login screen, to read the Pages and Instagram business accounts you choose: their names, follower counts and the statistics of their posts. We use this data only to show it to you in your dashboard and to compare it over time.

We do not publish, change or delete anything on your Pages or accounts without your explicit permission. Automatic posting is a beta feature that only works after you switch it on and, where you choose so, approve each post.

We do not sell this data and do not use it for advertising. You can disconnect at any time in your project under Social channels: we then delete the access token and the stored statistics straight away. If you remove the app in your Facebook settings instead, our access ends immediately; the data deletion page explains how to have the stored data deleted as well. Meta's own terms continue to apply to your use of Facebook and Instagram.

6. Acceptable use

You do not use the service to harm websites or people, to get around limits or security, to copy our data in bulk, or for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does.

7. Results

Our analyses are automated and indicative. They help you decide, but they do not guarantee rankings, visitors or revenue. Check important changes before you make them.

8. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the service available and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted. We may improve, change or stop features; for paid plans we tell you in advance about changes that affect you.

9. Liability

For the free service we are only liable for intent or gross negligence. For a paid plan, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event. We are never liable for indirect damage such as lost profit.

10. Ownership

Your websites, content and data remain yours. The software, texts and design of Marketing Scan remain ours; you may use them for your own business while you have an account.

11. Ending

You can stop at any time and have your account deleted by writing to info@marketingscan.be. We may end an account that breaks these terms.

12. Privacy

How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.

13. Law and disputes

Belgian law applies. Disputes go to the courts of Ghent, unless mandatory law says otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We announce important changes to account holders by email before they apply.
